Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Leicester

Do you need to talk about something that's troubling you? Feel that there is no-one in your life who understands you?

You may benefit from talking to someone who will listen and won't judge you; someone who will enable you to explore your thoughts and feelings until you feel motivated to move forward in a more confident way.

Sometimes difficulties from the past create fears about the future and prevent progress in the present.

You might feel isolated and depressed, as if nothing's real or meaningful or simply feel that life's not turning out as it was meant to be. Maybe a relationship's not working out or you are feeling bullied (by work or family) and don't know where to turn. If nobody is listening to how you feel, you may feel frustration and anger that builds to intolerable levels.

This is where therapy can help. Once you have gained perspective, you may become the confident, assertive person you were meant to be.

My name is Susan Byrne and I have been a practising counsellor and psychotherapist in Leicester (LE2 1ND, close to Leicester City Centre) for the past 21 years. I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy which is confidential and non-judgemental. Many clients have testified to the difference therapy with me has made to their lives.

I work with both individuals and couples for an agreed time period - which may be either short-term (e.g. 6 weeks) or longer-term (up to 2 years or more)- with the aim of enabling them to enhance their lives and to live life more fully.

I am experienced in helping clients who have difficulties with:

  • Lack of confidence
  • Anxiety. Depression
  • Identity (including Multi-Heritage / Cultural issues)
  • Sexual Identity (gay/lesbian/bisexual)
  • Relationship Difficulties
  • Loss and Bereavement
  • Workplace Stress

My counselling/psychotherapy practice is located at The Coach House, Victoria Terrace, 182A London Road, Leicester (opposite Victoria Park), of which I am co-director, and is within easy reach of the railway station (East Midlands Trains) and Leicester City Centre. It is a short distance from Wigston and Oadby.
